Accreditation

Accreditation

Accreditation is a way of establishing trust in the product and service market because it represents an independent and impartial assessment of competence of the bodies that perform testing, calibration, certification, control, verification and validation or qualification tests.

It is a procedure by which the national accreditation body determines whether the conformity assessment body meets the requirements for carrying out certain conformity assessment activities, which are set out in the relevant Serbian or international and European harmonized standards, and, where applicable, any additional requirements defined for certain areas, including the requirements set out in the relevant sectoral conformity assessment schemes.

Regulation (E3) no. 765/2008 introduced for the first time the legal framework for accreditation in the Member States, as well as the candidates for membership in the European Union.
