Specialised seminars for the representatives of ABs from South East Europe

In the period of 7th and 10th February 2011 the Accreditation Board of Serbia hosted the Belgrade meeting of the representatives of the ABs from South East Europe during which they attended specialised seminars involving the following fields:

- validation of analytical methods, calculation of measurement uncertainty, reference materials and internal quality control in chemical testing, and
- validation of methods, calculation of measurement uncertainty, reference materials and internal quality control in microbiological testing.

Training was delivered as part of the RTV Project “Promotion of regional cooperation in South East Europe in the field of quality infrastructure”, and the lecturer was a renowned Dr Michael Scheutwinkel.

These in-depth seminars covered a series of topics:
-validation and verification of methods in chemical or microbiological tests (requirements of ISO/IEC 17025);
-ensure trust in test results, use of reference materials, PT activities;
- traditional and modern approach to calculation of uncertainty of measurement;
- hands-on work on concrete examples of calculation of uncertainty of measurement.
