Information for CBMS for QMS and EMS on transition to the new versions of the standards SRPS ISO/IEC 17021-3:2017 and SRPS ISO/IEC 17021-2:2017

We hereby inform all interested parties that on 30 November, 2017 the Institute for Standardization of Serbia (ISS) published standards SRPS ISO/ IEC 17021-3: 2017 Conformity assessment- Requirements for bodies providing audit and certification of management systems - Part 3: Competence requirements for auditing and certification of quality management systems and SRPS ISO/IEC 17021-2: 2017 Conformity assessment - Requirements for bodies providing audit and certification of management systems - Part 2: Competence requirements for auditing and certification of environmental management systems.

The Accreditation Body of Serbia (ATS) hereby informs the accredited certification bodies (CBs) for certification of management systems for QMS and EMS that the transition period for transition to certification according to the new standards is two years from the publication of the ISO standard, which means until 31 March, 2019 for SRPS ISO/IEC 17021-3: 2017 and until 1 December, 2018 for SRPS ISO/IEC 17021-2: 2017. It is necessary for the accredited CBs for certification of management systems to provide ATS with the GAP analysis and the plan for implementation of the said standards no later than 30 April 2018 and in accordance with the plan, all the the management system documents that have been amended due to the new and amended requirements of the said standards with a clear identification of the changes, so that ATS could check, in accordance with the Rules of Accreditation and the plans, the application of the requirements of the new standard at the CB’s headquarters during regular surveillance assessment or reassessment.

ATS will not accept applications for accreditation by certification bodies for certification of management systems in accordance with SRPS ISO/IEC 17021-1 + SRPS ISO/IEC TS 17021-3: 2014 and SRPS ISO/IEC TS 17021-2: 2013, after 20 April 2018, ie the beginning of the receipt of applications for accreditation according to the new issues of SRPS ISO/IEC 17021-1 + SRPS ISO/IEC 17021-3: 2017 and SRPS ISO/IEC 17021-2: 2017.

All assessments after 20 April 2018 will include the assessment of the fulfillment of the requirements of SRPS ISO/IEC 17021-3: 2017 and SRPS ISO/IEC 17021-2: 2017.
