Information seminar for technical experts
SeminarsOn Monday, 8th June an information seminar for technical experts was held at the premises of the Accreditation Board of Serbia. During this seminar the future technical experts and existing ones were able to find out information about accreditation process and their role in it, their rights and duties, and methods to monitor performance.
The lectures were given by Dejan Krnjaić, PhD, ATS Director, on the subject of “Standards, Conformity Assessment and Accreditation”, Biljana Tomić, Head of the Department for Legal and General Affairs, spoke about “Rules of Accreditation, Accreditation Procedure, Rights and Duties of Technical Experts (TE)”, and Natalija Jovičić Zarić, MSc, Assistant Director for Accreditation Affairs, that gave a lecture on the subject of “Role of Technical Experts in Accreditation Process”. The seminar was coordinated by Vida Živković, MSc, ATS Deputy Director.
During his lecture Dejan Krnjaić explained the importance of ISO IEC 17011 for a uniform implementation of accreditation activities worldwide, and the importance of networking and membership in international and regional organisations for accreditation. Furthermore, he emphasised that the key task of the ATS was to sign the multilateral agreement (MLA) so that the system of accreditation in the Republic of Serbia could integrate into the world system of accreditation.
During her lecture Biljana Tomić explained to the existing technical experts and the future ones the flow of accreditation process, roles of technical experts, their rights and duties, and performance monitoring.
Natalija Jovičić Zarić, MSc, explained the role of technical experts on the assessment team, presented work forms used in accreditation process during “on the spot” phase of assessment, while assessment aspects were explained in detail.
After the lectures had been completed, Vida Živković, MSc, invited the present participants to ask questions and present their suggestions and findings. It was concluded during the discussion that it was important for the work of technical experts to organise seminars as often as possible so that they could be given necessary information for their future work. The Accreditation Board of Serbia will provide necessary support to technical experts in the future in order to facilitate their work. This will be done in accordance with the procedure entitled Training for Assessors, Information Seminar for the ATS Technical Experts and Training of the ATS Employees.
