Calibration of measuring instruments as a requirement for adequate production process

In the period between 5th and 8th October 2010, seminars were held as part of the EU funded Project entitled “Technical Assistance to Quality Infrastructure Institutions in the Republic of Serbia” and in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development. The seminars were held...

at the premises of Serbian Chamber of Commerce (first two days) and Chamber of Commerce of Vojvodina (last two days) on the subject of Quality infrastructure – calibration of measuring instruments as a requirement for adequate production process.

The following topics were presented on the first day:
- EU legal framework of quality infrastructure (lecturer: Vitomir Fister, EC Legal Expert in charge of accreditation and conformity assessment issues as part of the national CARDS 2006 programme).
- National metrology system of the Republic of Serbia and the role of the Directorate of Measures and Precious Metals - DMDM (lecturer: Vida Živković MSc, DMDM Director)
- Role of the accreditation body in the field of conformity assessment – field of calibration (lecturer: Dušanka Santovac, ATS)
- Calibration, its importance to economy and requirements of ISO/IEC 17025 (lecturer: Matjaž Lindič MSc, Slovenian Expert).

Messrs Zoran Šofranac and Predrag Đurić, DMDM experts, joined the team of lecturers on the second day. During the seminar, problems and dilemmas encountered by organisations in their every day work were discussed, as well as practical application of SRPS ISO/IEC 17025. Seminars were successful and they gathered a large number of participants, both representatives of calibration laboratories and representatives of other interested parties in the field of conformity assessment.
