Training for assessors in organic production

In the period between 18th and 20th October 2010 a training was delivered on the subject of “SRPS EN 45011 (ISO/IEC Guide 65): general requirements for bodies certifying products in the field of organic production” and as part of the project “Development of Organic Agriculture in Serbia” in cooperation with the German consultancy (GTZ).

Lecturers were as follows: Jochen Neuendorff and Jutta Krawinkel, German experts. It included the introduction to the content and practical application of SRPS EN 45011:2004, planning, organisation and assessment in accordance with the requirements of the standard, and reporting on assessment findings.

Training for assessors-to-be (for the purpose of accreditation) was delivered by means of lectures, exercises and interactive group work (solving assessment scenarios, discussion, etc.). On the second day two visits were organised - to an organic producer, Josip Mamuzić, form Ljutovo, Subotica and to a processing plant that is a part of the healthy food company Suncokret d.o.o. Hajdukovo, Subotica. The host was a certification body authorised by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management – “Organic Control Sustem” d.o.o. in Subotica.

14 delegates attended the training: ATS representatives, representatives of the competent body for organic production at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management, potential assessors, experts in organic production and GTZ representatives.
