2013 Metrology Congress

Announcement of events

The Directorate of Measures and Precious Metals (DMDM), Institute of Metrology of Montenegro and Society of Metrologists hereby invite all experts in metrology to contribute, as authors of scientific and technical papers, sponsors, active participants and lecturers, to the success of this scientific and technical congress that will be held in the period between 17th and 19th October 2013 at the Jezero Hotel in Bor.

Metrology Congress Purpose and Programme

The said Congress is traditionally organised for the purpose of exchanging information, scientific and technical knowledge and improving quality in all fields of metrology. Workshops will become a part of the Congress activities this year, while the topics and content thereof will be published at the later stage.

Following the plenary session the Congress will be divided into sections in keeping with IMEKO (International Measurement Confederation) classification.

The National Parliament of the Principality of Serbia adopted on 1st December 1873 the first Law on Measures (based on archive prototypes of meter and kilogramme) when the decimal metric system of measures was introduced. This enabled commercial and trade arrangements between our country and other countries in Central and Western Europe. This law provided a foundation for legal metrology in Serbia. 2013 is the 140th anniversary of legal metrology in Serbia, and our Congress contributes thereto by devising the following motto:

“From archive prototypes to the definition of new units of measurement”

All additional information and information on how to apply are explained at the DMDM website.
