International Convention on Quality (JUSK ICQ 2013) was held

This year the Accreditation Body of Serbia (ATS) participated, together with the Directorate of Measures and Precious Metals (DMDM), in the fifth special conference “National system of accreditation - current prospects and future developments” and the fourth special conference “National metrology system - current prospects and future developments” as part of the JUSK international convention on quality - JUSK ICQ 2013 - (www.jusk.org) that was held on Wednesday, 5th June 2013, at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.

ATS representatives introduced the delegates to the latest ATS activities when they presented the new ATS documents relating to the accreditation of PT providers as per ISO/IEC 17043, accreditation of sampling activities (ATS-UP25) and accreditation of the flexible scope of accreditation (ATS-UP28).


Jasna Stojanović, ATS Acting Director, opened the conference when she gave the presentation on the subject of “Accreditation Body of Serbia – 15 years of operation”. She introduced the participants to successful operation of ATS in the last 15 years and highlighted the importance of the EA, ILAC and IAF agreements that ATS signed therewith.

Ljubinka Gligić PhD, ATS, introduced the participants to the new ATS activity: accreditation of PT providers as per ISO/IEC 17043. She talked about the structure of the standard, and about the new documents applied by ATS when accrediting PT Providers.

Milica Jovčić MSc, ATS, gave a lecture on the subject of: “Reporting on compliance with specifications - Information about the content of the assessment report/calibration certificate when a laboratory has to state compliance with specifications (based on ILAC-G8: 03/2009)” explaining to the delegates situations that the laboratory can be faced with.

Ljiljana Markićević, ATS, presented and explained in detail the content of the new ATS document entitled “Accreditation of Sampling Activities” when she stressed that laboratories performing only sampling could not be accredited.

Bratislav Milosević PhD, ATS, presented the possibility of accreditation of flexible scope of accreditation. He pointed out that there were three types of flexible scopes and emphasised that laboratories could be accredited for a flexible scope during the second regular surveillance assessment at the earliest.

The last presentation at the conference was given by Jelena Stojanović, ATS, who presented a new ATS document relating to Guidelines that testing laboratories (sensory testing) use when applying ISO/IEC 17025.
