A new type of accreditation for reference material producers in accordance with SRPS EN ISO 17034:2017

The Accreditation Body of Serbia (ATS) is extending its scope of activity to include a new type of accreditation for reference material producers according to the standard SRPS EN ISO 17034:2017 - General requirements for the competence of reference material producers.

Following successfully conducted training facilitated with the support of the TAIEX project and expert colleagues from the Hellenic Accreditation System (ESYD) and the Greek National Food Testing Laboratory, ATS has dedicated itself to developing documentation for the needs of this new type of accreditation for reference material producers by the standard SRPS EN ISO 17034:2017.

New and updated existing documents have been prepared to enable the commencement of accreditation for reference material producers by SRPS EN ISO 17034:2017. We hope that reference material producers will opt to confirm their competence through the accreditation process, in the interest of the users of reference materials themselves, as well as the overall economy of the Republic of Serbia.

A revised document EA-INF/01: 2023 was published

European co-operation for accreditation (EA), published on its site the revised document EA-INF/01:2023, List of EA publications and international documents, valid from 22nd January, 2024.

This publication provides a list of EA documents used on a mandatory or informative basis, according to the classification given in EA-1/14 “Procedure for Development and Approval of EA Documents and the Adoption of ILAC/IAF Documents”. It also contains a list of international documents approved by the EA as applicable EA documents.

A revised document EA-INF/01: 2023 was published

The European co-operation for accreditation (EA) published on its website the revised document EA-INF/01:2023, List of EA publications and international documents, valid from August 29, 2023.

This publication provides a list of EA documents used on a mandatory or informative basis, according to the classification given in EA-1/14 “Procedure for Development and Approval of EA Documents and the Adoption of ILAC/IAF Documents”.  It also contains a list of international documents approved by the EA as applicable EA documents.

The Accreditation Body of Serbia publishes the updated edition of the Application for accreditation form, ATS-PR11-O01, edition 8/1 and updated documents in the field of accreditation of certification bodies for the certification of organic products.

• you can download the checklist for evaluating certification bodies for product certification in the field of organic production (control organizations that perform inspection and certification tasks in organic production) according to SRPS EN ISO/IEC 17065:2016, ATS-UP26-O02, edition 2/0 HERE.

The application of these documents begins on the day of publication.

Five new resolutions added to EA-INF/17

European co-operation for accreditation (EA) at its website published the new issue of document EA-INF/17, Register of EA resolutions for use by EA, National Accreditation Bodies, and EA evaluators which shall come into effect from 14th June 2023.

This document contains a register of all relevant EA resolutions that have not been transferred to EA documents but are still valid for conformity assessment bodies, national accreditation bodies, and assessors.

According to the rules of this document, EA members are obliged to abide by the decisions of the General Assembly and the Multilateral Agreement Council (MAC). Most of the decisions taken by the General Assembly in the form of EA resolutions are implemented in the EA documents, but some of them are only mentioned in the resolutions.

The EA has added new resolutions to the document, EA-INF/17 so that it now contains all EA resolutions.

New issue of the guidance ATS-UP26

The Accreditation Body of Serbia publishes the updated edition of the Guidelines for accreditation of certification bodies for certification of products in the field of organic production, ATS-UP26, edition 3/0, the implementation of which begins on the day of publication.

The document complies with the current Regulation (EU) 2018/848 of the European Parliament and of the Council from 30.05.2018 on organic production and labeling of organic products and repealing Council Regulation (EC) No 834/2007 and with document EA-3/12 M: 2022- EA Policy for the Accreditation of Organic Production Certification.

New edition of the Guidance ATS-UP01

Notification about repetition of training related to the amended form of the List of findings (ATS-PR12-O03)

Notification to all accredited conformity assessment bodies and CABs that are in the process of accreditation on the repetition of training related to the amended form of the List of findings (ATS-PR12-O03)

The Accreditation Body of Serbia (ATS) informs all interested accredited CABs and CABs that are in the process of accreditation that on June 14th, 2022 starting at 10.00, repeat the training related to the amended form of the List of finding (ATS-PR12-O03).

The training will be conducted remotely, via the Cisco Webex Meetings application (for more information on Cisco Webex Meetings you can visit the page HERE► 

The repeated training was organized taking into account the expressed need of CABs that were not able to attend the previous training, with the invitation for training in the new term being sent to all accredited CABs and CABs that are in the process of accreditation and attendance at the training will be available to all who are interested, regardless of whether they have attended previous training.

Invitation e-mail with a link to access the traning will be sent to the e-mail address of the person contacting ATS (same e-mail address to which the training notice is sent) the day before the training (June 13th, 2022) by 10 am.

Amendments of the form List of findings (ATS-PR12-O03)

Notification to all accredited conformity assessment bodies and conformity assessment bodies that are in the process of accreditation on amendments of the List of findings (ATS-PR12-O03)

The Accreditation Body of Serbia informs accredited CABs and CABs that are in the process of accreditation that the form List of findings (ATS-PR12-O03) has been amended in such a way that the CAB is now explicitly required to submit, in addition to analysis of cause, also analysis of extent of identified nonconformities/concerns which is a requirement of the standard SRPS ISO/IEC 17011:2018 which provides general requirements for accreditation bodies that accredit CABs.

Extension of the scope of ATS to the accreditation of medical laobratories against SRPS EN ISO 15189 and SRPS EN ISO 22870 (Point-of-care testing - POCT)

In accordance with the Rules of Accreditation and its procedures, ATS has expanded the scope of its activity to the accreditation of medical laboratories against SRPS EN ISO 15189 and SRPS EN ISO 22870 (point-of-care testing -POCT).


For the purposes of accreditation in this field of conformity assessment, the Guidance UP 51 Guidance for the assessment of laboratories against SRPS EN ISO 15189 and SRPS EN ISO 22870 point-of-care testing (POCT).

For the needs of accreditation of medical laboratories for point-of-care testing (POCT), the development, amendment of the accomopanying forms was performed, namely:

  - Application for accreditation in which the Annex D.3.2 for accreditation of POCT is defined (SRPS EN ISO 22870)
  - Check list for the assessment of medical laboratories against requirements of standard SRPS EN ISO 22870:2017 (appendix to           the Check list for the assessment of medical laboratories against SRPS EN ISO 15189:2014)

Also, the new edition of ATS-UP02 Guides for Formulating the Scope of Accreditation of the CAB, Annex 3 defines presentation of the Scope of accreditation of medical laboratories that perform point-of-care testing (POCT) against SRPS EN ISO 15189 and SRPS EN ISO 22780.

All these documents are available on the ATS website.

By publishing these documents, ATS is ready to accept and apply for accreditation/extension of the scope of accreditation of medical laboratories according to SRPS EN ISO 15189 and SRPS EN ISO 22870 point-of-care testing (POCT).

The beginning of the application of these new editions of the forms is from 01.11.2021. 

The amendment of the Accreditation Application and the Accreditation Contract is a consequence of the harmonization with the new, thirteenth edition of the Rules of Accreditation, the beginning of the application of which is also from November 1, 2021, as well as with the Law on Accreditation ("Official Gazette of RS" No. 73/2010 and 47/2021).

Extension of the scope of activity of ATS to the accreditation of the body for conformity assessment of medical devices

Notification: Extension of the scope of activity of ATS to the accreditation of the body for conformity assessment of medical devices in the field covered by the Law on Medical Devices ("Official Gazette of RS", No. 105/17)


In accordance with the Rules of Accreditation and its procedures, ATS has expanded the scope of its activity to the accreditation of CABs in the field of medical devices, in accordance with the regulations adopted based on the Law on Medical Devices. The procedure of accreditation of CABs shall be carried out for the purpose of their designation (notification) or authorization in accordance with the Law on Medical Devices ("Official Gazette of RS", No. 105/17) and the Rulebook on Basic Requirements for Medical Devices ("Official Gazette of RS", No. 65/18) and the Rulebook on suspension and withdrawal, as well as on the Rulebook on technical assessment of a medical device on the market ("Official Gazette of RS", No. 99/2018, 37/2019).

For the needs of accreditation in this field of conformity assessment, the Guidance ATS-UP44 Accreditation Criteria and Guidelines for assessment of bodies for conformity assessment of medical devices, issue/revision 1/0 from 07.09.2021, has been prepared, and is also available on the ATS website. By publishing the above guidance, ATS is ready to accept and apply for accreditation/extension of the scope of accreditation for conformity assessment in accordance with the regulations adopted based on the Law on Medical Devices.

Note: New issue of Rules of Accreditation ATS-PA01

The Accreditation Body of Serbia publishes a new, thirteenth edition, Rules of Accreditation ATS-PA01.

Amendment of the Rules of Accreditation is a consequence of the harmonization with the Law on accreditation (‘’Official Gazette of the RS“ No. 73/2010  and 47/2021).

A transitional period for the application of the new Rules of Accreditation was determined, so that these Rules enter into force and shall be applied from November 1, 2021. Until then, the Rules of Accreditation ATS-PA01, edition twelfth from 12 of July 2019 shall be applied.

Extension of the scope of ATS’s work to accreditation of certification bodies for certification of products, processes and services in the area covered by the Law on Contruction Products (Official Gazette of the RS, no. 83/2018) 


Law on Contruction Products (Official Gazette of the RS no. 83/2018 from October 29, 2018) recognized the role of accreditation in the procedure of notification of  a body for assessment and verification of continuity of performance, which is defined in Article 41 of the Law. It is prescribed that a body which has an accreditation certificate, meets the prescribed requirements for notification given in the law to the extent that the requirements are covered by the scope of accreditation, taking into account the procedures for assessing and verifying continuity of performance for construction products are covered by accreditation.

Information on document ILAC-P15: 05/2020

ILAC (International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation) published a new version of the document ILAC-P15: 05/2020 Application of ISO/IEC 17020:2012 for the Accreditation of Inspection Bodies containing the criteria for the accreditation of inspection bodies on May 22, 2020.

This document contains information for the application of ISO/IEC 17020:2012, Conformity assessment-Requirements for the operation of various types of bodies performing the inspection. It is used in the process of assessment of inspection bodies by accreditation bodies, but also as a document containing information for inspection bodies concerning the application of the reference standard. The deadline for its application is November 2021.

In this regard, ATS has prepared document ATS-UP42, Guidelines for the implementation of ISO/IEC 17020, which is a translation of the ILAC-P15: 05/2020. According to the action plan, ATS shall commence using the document in the assessments of inspection bodies, as of  September 1, 2020.
